Vitamin K2: MK-7, MK-4, Evidence & Safety
Vitamin K2 is a family of menaquinones rather than one single molecule. MK-4 and MK-7 are two forms frequently discussed in nutrition and supplement research.
What vitamin K does
Vitamin K is required for activation of several vitamin-K-dependent proteins involved in normal coagulation and other biological processes. “K2” generally refers to menaquinone forms.
MK-7 versus MK-4
MK-7 and MK-4 differ in structure, metabolism and the doses used in research. Results involving one form should not automatically be generalized to the other.

MenaQ7® is a branded source of MK-7 used in supplements, including current VenoPlus 8 materials. The presence of a branded ingredient can improve identity clarity, but clinical conclusions still depend on the actual dose and endpoint studied.
Cardiovascular claims need restraint
Vitamin-K-dependent proteins are involved in vascular biology, which is why K2 attracts interest in cardiovascular research. That is not the same as evidence that a K2 supplement removes existing arterial plaque or treats cardiovascular disease.
Warfarin interaction
NIH states that vitamin K can have a serious interaction with warfarin and similar anticoagulants. People using those medicines should maintain consistent vitamin K intake and coordinate changes with their healthcare team.
